Cristhian Mosquera on track to Golden Boy 2024  

Valencia CF defender Cristhian Mosquera continues in the fight to win the Golden Boy 2024, the award that distinguishes the best U21 player in Europe. The Valencia CF center-back appears in the sixth cut of the Golden Boy Football Benchmark Index.

The center-back, trained at the VCF Academy, has started the 24-25 season after winning Olympic gold with the Spanish National Team and after consolidating his place in the Valencia CF first team last season under Rubén Baraja, demonstrating performance, personality and leadership in the Valencianista backline.

The Valencianista player was the best defender of LALIGA EA Sports 23-24 according to Olocip, finished in the 'top 5' of the U-23 central defenders with the highest percentage of ground duels won among the five major leagues and accumulated numerous nominations for awards such as being the best U-23 player of the month of April of LALIGA EA Sports 23-24, the Golden Boy's own and that of the 2024 Football Draft Awards, which recognizes the best Spanish youth players.

Cristhian Mosquera was ranked 15th (76.4 points) in the ranking of the 100 candidates for the Golden Boy, which takes into account the on-field performance of players since October 2023 and considers players born in 2004 or later who belong to teams in the top 25 UEFA leagues by coefficient.
