Cheryshev: “This season will be even more demanding than the last campaign”
Having had two separate spells on loan at Valencia CF, Denis Cheryshev signed a permanent deal this summer, keeping him at the club until June 30th, 2022. Following the confirmation of his return, the Russian spoke to the media at his official presentation on Wednesday.

Objectives for the season
“The coach has transmitted to us that we have to demand a lot of ourselves. Valencia CF are a very demanding club, the fans want the best -as they should- and the coach is the first person who wants to improve on last season. We are behind him and we hope that we can do even better.”
A message to the fans
“We have to win our next game all the time. That’s what our objectives should be: Taking things game-by-game and seeing where that gets us during the season. We have to be ambitious; we want to win trophies, just like anyone else, but we have to work with humility and keep our feet on the ground.”

Loan spells vs. Permanent deal
“The excitement I have is the same. Last year we achieved some great things, and this season will be even more demanding than the last campaign. We are going to give our all, work hard and try to achieve everything possible for the club. Nothing has changed in my mind: We have the utmost motivation and desire to win every game.”
Expectations of a long stay
“You never know where you are going to end up. I am very comfortable here, and I feel at ease in the city and with the team. The club treat me phenomenally well and I will give my all to make my contribution.”
Fitness
“I’m beginning to train with the team. My teammates have come back in great shape. My knee is holding up fairly well, but in the end a 2.5 month break has an effect. Now it’s time to grit my teeth and get back to full strength.”
