Piccini continues apace on road to recovery
Cristiano Piccini is making a steady recovery from injury, undertaking double gym sessions at the Ciudad Deportiva. He is now able to put partial weight on his right leg, and is making a progressive increase in loads supported by his injured limb.

A typical day for the Italian involves long sessions divided into morning and afternoon workouts, including time in a hyperbaric chamber, the swimming pool and in the weights room, along with specialised physiotherapy sessions.

One of the latest steps forward for the fullback is his ability to bear weight on his right leg, and he is increasing the forces applied gradually. In the pool, Piccini is carrying out overall exercises with controlled supports, movement sessions for his knee, and flexion & extension work.

The hyperbaric chamber gets oxygen to his muscle tissue and improves overall circulation, whilst muscle activation and strengthening exercises have him firmly on the road to a full recovery.
