The story behind Soler's moustache

Carlos Soler returned from the Under-21s European Championship this summer with two things: A winners medal and a new look. The Valencia CF player was sporting a moustache that attracted plenty of attention amongst fans and teammates alike.

The makeover was part of a bet with friends Guille, Vicente and Pablo, and his brother Alejandro. The quintet had decided that if Soler won the Euros with Spain, all of them would grow moustaches.

The bet was also taken up by members of the national team Fabián Ruiz, Antonio Sivera and Alfonso Pedraza all signed up -although the latter would eventually back out.

Soler and his friends showed off their new bristles in photos from their summer holidays in Cuba, before he joined up with the Valencia CF squad again on Wednesday.
