PEPELU: “THE TEAM SHOULD BE PROUD OF WHAT WE DID”
The Valencia CF midfielder analyses the defeat against FC Barcelona
Valencia CF midfielder Pepelu talked about the defeat against FC Barcelona on Matchday 33 of the LaLiga EA season.
Reviewing the game
“Whenever there is a defeat it is not pleasant. When it was 11 against 11 we stood up to them and we did what we had worked on. But hanging on at a place like this, with one less player, for as long as this, is difficult.”
Mamardashvili's sending off
“It changes all your plans, coming just before the break. Winning a half at this ground is very difficult to do, and we also conceded the equaliser quite early. The team showed that we wanted it and worked hard. We are very young players and we must be proud of what we did despite the defeat, which is never pleasant.”
The next game against Deportivo Alavés
"We know that at home we have to become very strong. After the defeat the other day we really want to return to Mestalla and face the game with great motivation. Above all, I hope that the fans, as always, will be there with us.”
The away support
"I thank them because with the change of kickoff day, there are also people who weren't able to come. The weather was rather ugly, but as always when we play away from home, they are there accompanying us. We thank them for continuing to do that."
The dedication for his goal
“The story came out the other day, and today luckily I scored again and I went over to speak to the camera. I hope Carlos saw it.”
